VEXOR's commitment to innovative solutions for waste management and energy recovery led to the development of VEXOR Engineered Fuel® (VEF).  The VEF is a manufactured product with a commercial application utilized as a coal substitute in a combustion unit where coal is burned, such as a cement kiln, lime kiln or utility boiler. This alternate energy source is manufactured from various non-hazardous industrial and commercial materials that holds no value and has historically been disposed of in landfills. This includes but not limited to various plastics, paper, and cardboard that can not be further recycled by traditional means, as well as industrial wastes such as soy based inks, chemicals and oleo chemicals. Certain materials are removed such as metals, inorganic materials, and other materials not able to support combustion or are not beneficial to the product being made (cement or lime).We take this waste material, regardless of its physical characteristics (i.e. solid, liquid or sludge), and process to create a homogeneous, consistent solid fuel for use in the kilns. By manufacturing an alternate fuel from wastes we are diverting a large quantity of waste that was traditionally going to landfills for disposal.

Approval Process:

All waste streams received at VEXOR undergo a pre-approval process, which takes into account both regulatory and processing characteristics. Those qualifying for potential VEF ingredients go through further analysis to make sure the final VEF meets the kiln specifications.

Benefits:

VEXOR Engineered Fuel®(VEF) contains significantly lower mercury and sulfur than traditional coal so stack tests show a reduction in emissions into the air.  VEF therefore has benefits for the end user by lowering key emissions during combustion thereby lessening the pollution to the air.  Also, the ash generated in the combustion of the VEF is incorporated into a product by the kiln so there is typically zero landfill disposal.  VEF reduces generator liability through landfill avoidance and recycling, while also reducing green house gases, and fossil fuel demand.

VEF has been successfully tested in several kilns throughout the United States, proving to be a viable alternative fuel source. VEXOR has been internationally recognized by the global fuels association as alternative fuel company of the year.  The success of VEF has led us into a long term supply agreement with Carmeuse Lime & Stone. VEF is just the latest step in the innovative processes that VEXOR provides for generators.  All of the processes implemented by VEXOR provide a safe, secure and environmentally sound way for generators to manage there non-hazardous waste.
